Today for Cybersmart we made a DLO (Digital Learning Object) on Gourds. When researching we used Control F which was made to write a word in, and when you wrote the word, the word you typed in would show up. When smart searching we had to search with a keyword or keyphrase. When finding the information we had to use Control F and then skim and scan the information. Skimming and Scanning is reading fast, to look for the information you need.

ReplyDeleteIt was really interesting to read your DLO on gourds, especially how they used them in the past in Polynesia! When I lived in Egypt most of the Egyptians I knew grew a type of gourd in their garden called the luffa. You might have seen these in a store, as we use these all over the world to scrub in the shower! I thought it was really cool that Egyptians can grow their own so easily because of the hot dry climate. I tried to grow some of these gourds myself but I wasn't very successful. Great job on your blog!
