Science and Stem

LI: To identify what we know about science

This week the year seven went to science. We were introduced are silves. And then we were assigned a seat each. Then we got notebooks and we wrote science words like tube, biology. Then we all had to write something on the white board. We had to come up with science word. Then we got are paper from Miss Sharma and then we had to fold are paper into fours. On the top left we wort science words again. And then on the bottom left corner we had to draw an instrument that evolved around science. Then on the top right side we wrote a question we wanted to know about science. On the bottom right corner we cutted out a picture. And then we had to glued the picture on are paper. Then we glued the paper onto are notebook.

What is Science

L.I To summarise the information. L.I: to find the most vital ideas from the information to help us answer the question what is science.

This week for reading we have been learning about what science is. We started off with writing down what we already knew about science on sticky notes, then we watched a video to find out more. While watching the video we used the sticky notes to make notes. The video explains the areas of science, the difference between basic science and applied science. One thing we found really interesting was that you use chemistry, physics, and biology when you make a lime juice from fresh limes. We negotiated and shared ideas to create a summary, we used the sticky notes to create sentences for the summary. Our group worked collaboratively to get these activities completed. We enjoyed doing this activity as we were able to practise negotiating and taking time to respect everybody's ideas. We have summarised our learning below. Science is about getting knowledge from asking questions . It is divided into 3 areas: Chemistry, Physics and Biology. Science is both basic and applied, basic science using what you know. Science is either beneficial or harmful depending on how you view and use it. Questions we want to ask: Where can science be used? Why is science important to our world ? When do scientists ask questions?

Eye illusions

This week Mr Johnson visited the class. He tolled us all about how are eyes can deserve us.And how blinking can clean your eyes. And keeps it moused and if you wave a pen in front of your face.It looks like it's made from rubier. It is a trick that your eyes play on you.We also made a toy with one picture on one side, and one on the other side. sometimes your eyes see one thing but it needs time to imprint it in your memory. And we had to drew on those sides a fishing bowl and a fish and when you spin it around you can see the fish jumping into the fish bowl.
